$107 a minute!

SINGAPORE, 27 April 2010: National Team players Baihakki Khaizan and Ridhuan Muhamad have been found guilty of the charge of breaching the Football Association of Singapore Code of Conduct & Professional Ethics for National Players and fined S$750 each following the Disciplinary Committee hearing at the FAS headquarters in Jalan Besar Stadium this evening.

The two players had breached Clause 8(i) of the FAS Code of Conduct & Professional Ethics for National Players by failing to be punctual for the departure of the team from the hotel at 1545hrs on Wednesday 3 March 2010 for the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Jordan in Amman by turning up to board the scheduled team bus at about seven (7) minutes late.

The fine of S$750 is to be paid within 30 days of being given notice of the Disciplinary Committee verdict.

Said Baihakki, “I would like apologise to coach Raddy and my team-mates as well as to all Singapore fans. As a National Team player, what happened was not acceptable and there can be no excuses. I’m proud to represent my country and I look forward to having the opportunity to fight for honours for Singapore for many years to come.”

Said Ridhuan, “I am very sorry about what happened and I want to put this episode behind and move on. If I am called up for the National Team, I will always give 100% and this will never happen again.”

The above is an official Football Association of Singapore press release. Below are just the words of some geezer with way too much free time

COMMENT - they have also been told to buy a new alarm clock and for future away trips will be kept on a leash. I understand a further sanction was considered, being locked in a room with no windows listening to Michael Bolton and Phil Collins non stop for three days but this was considered a tad unfair.

Comments:
I guess Bai and Ridhuan have adjusted themselves perfectly to Indonesian habit. Nobody gets fined when they're late in Indonesia training camp. It's just 30 minutes. Boaz and others were late for days.

Just another update on Wamena's incident. Persiwa manager Jhon Banua gets two matches ban, while Persiwa gets one match ban and have to play in neutral ground.

Persisam assistant manager Agus Setiawan gets six matches ban, while Danilo Fernando was fined Rp 25 million for slapping Banua.

The best thing, Choi was beaten to death for nothing. Nobody was punished for that.

yeah im just about to post about that. persiwa do what the hell they want, beat the crap out of someone and persisam are the ones in trouble!
