T Team get Umroh bonus

ZAINUDDIN MUHAMMAD

THE Umrah trip to Mecca is on for T-Team players and officials now that their place in the Super League next season is secured.

Assistant manager Rosdi Awang said the trip, as promised by Terengganu Youth and Sports Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Rahin Mohd Said, who is also team manager, would be honoured by the team management. He said it was a fitting reward for the players, coaching staff and management after they won promotion to the Super League in their first attempt.

"After the formation of T-Team four years ago, we have emerged champions in the FAM League, earned promotion to the Premier League, finished runners-up in our first season and now claimed our place in the Super League," said Rosdi.

"We have come a long way indeed and before we embark on a new journey alongside the big boys of Malaysian football, it would be good to go to Mecca to perform the umrah during the fasting month."

On their preparation for the Super League, Rosdi said they would request the state government to help them meet the financial requirement of the FA of Malaysia.

"Now that we are about to play in the big league, we are keeping our eyes on several new players to strengthen our squad although the majority of our current players will be retained.

"We do have a good squad of players, and seven or eight are being pursued, on loan, by several teams for the Malaysia Cup," he added.
