FA Cup Final Day - Selangor v Kelantan

Malaysia's first trophy is up for grabs (just love those three words!) tomorrow as Kelantan and Selangor clash head to head at the Bukit Jalil for the FA Cup, won in the last two years by Kedah.

Kelantan, coached by former West Ham player Peter Butler, stand on the verge of their first ever triumph, while for Selangor it's a case of been there, done that for Malaysia's most successful side.

Ticket sales start at 10 am on the big day as officials expect a full house. Prices are 15 RM.

With foreign players banned this season in Malaysia, both Selangor and Kelantan have hogged the best of Malaysian striking talent with the Red Giants boasting the likes of Safee Sali, R. Surendran, Amirulhadi Zainal, Rudie Ramli, Mohd Amir and C. Premnath as well as Amri Yahyah who netted twice in the semi final.

On the other hand Butler can call on the likes of Indra Putra Mahayuddin, Norfarhan Mohd and Khalid Jamlus. Putra and Khalid have both played for Selangor in the past.

More than 100 buses have been chartered from Kota Bahru to ferry Kelantan's expectant support to the capital city as the Kijang participate in their first final since Peter Bonetti watched England lose to West Germany in the 1970 World Cup. The side from north east Malaysia are hoping they will be cheered on by 40,000 fans making for a white hot atmosphere inside the Bukit Jalil tomorow night.

Skipper Badri Radzi has called on his team mates to 'to stand up and be counted in the Malaysian Super League (MSL). We have been making up the numbers all this while ... now it’s time to make history.'

Kelantan have never won a trophy in their history and Radzi doesn't want his side to have to wait another 39 years before they get so close.
